Lock 2 - Waterford
So
much for the Erie Canal for us. It was a ride. It was easier
and more pleasant than I have anticipated it. We didn't care
much for the motoring all the time, however, and I am looking
forward for Afterblue to become a sailing ship again some
time tomorrow.
We
stayed in Waterford for another day. We took this extra time
to update this website - since we have an internet access
less than 100 feet away from the boat, and I also took some
time to reinforce deck under the starboard side winch. It
was showing some cracks and mindful of the boat's age I have
applied another coat of fiberglass mat under it. To get to
that spot I had to unfortunately cut off some of the interior
mold, but at least it was in not so visible spot. Johannes,
bless his heart, did the laundry - much appreciated event
in our journey and also got some groceries.
Throughout
the day we also got some time off from each other. Johannes
had some visions at the Hudson River and I went for a lovely
walk down the river in the evening. No visions here. Yet.
