Book - Chesapeake City
September
26, 2003
Chesapeake City, Maryland
We
had a mighty stranding right after coming out of the river.
Taking a shortcut back to the canal we got stranded in 2 foot
of water. The water was pressing the boat, unable to move.
I hanged myself on the one side of the boat holdin on to the
shrouds and Maciek skillfully used sails and engine to navigate
us out. After some fearful moments the ground gave us free.
With
a divine speed we were gaining ground, tide in our back, sailing
and motoring we did mysterious 7 knots and arrived at the
Canal to the Chesapeake Bay. We filled up gas at some marina
in the outback and....ttatatatata....got a chart for the bay.
We also took the possibility to release some pressure in our
guts. You know what I mean, spear you with details.
Well,
Chesapeake City is a blessing. Free mooring dock, water and
a little city park with electricity right behind the library.
So right now I'm sitting outside in a light summer night breeze
enjoying good funky live music from the bar across the river.
The lights, the smell the summer goes by and leave its memories.
It has been a blessed day. A guy we had seen all the 3 days
before, Nil, sailing in a Catamaran Ming, accompanied us to
a poorly equipped grocery store, later he dinghied by and
suddenly gave us to chart kits, just for free. All the charts
we need from here to freaking Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So
greetings from here. God takes care of his sons. Sometimes,
we have a little argument as I am often too lazy to tidy up
in and around the boat. I promised to improve in that matter.
Yes, life is hard here, too, sometimes. Forgiveness is the
word of the day. People, live in Forgiveness. Amen.
By
the way, today, celebrate with us the first month of our journey.
