Altamaha River, GA
Georgia
stretch of ICW is very
beautiful and very remote and undeveloped. You love the days
of not seeing a single town and you hate not seeing a single
town, if you know what I mean. I think I liked it more than
Johannes who is in never ending pursuit of stimulus and always
somewhat restless. I did love the fact that it was blowing
good and we were sailing the obstacle course between different
markers, which sometimes was more like skiing than sailing.
We
end up going up the river to gas-up. It took us lot longer
than we would hope, but after some time we saw the marina
mentioned in some guide. We talked to few people there including
one fella who upon hearing that we would want to try to get
to Cuba advised us to stock up on black market firearms. His
arsenal among seven other guns included a machine gun. One
question I haven't think to ask was how do you fire seven
weapons at the same time. Cuba could be risky though and I
did appreciate to have some godly respect for the dangers
have put in me.
