Laundry
Boat
October,
2003
Beaufort, SC
If
you have read, by any chance, my last report you might remember
me mentioning about being a bit socially deprived. Yeah, it
is one of my phrases on this trip and I repeat it over and
over in our emails as well. As much fun and adventure we share
we do miss people
a lot. Point in case was to meet Jim and his wife onboard
of Summer Slopes. We docked at the same place in Beaufort
after passing each other for days. We were all so happy to
talk to someone that we were almost shouting one through another:)
I think they were somewhat amused by our lack of planning
and organization. They have seen us dropping an anchor where
normally we shouldn't but somehow we were still in one piece.
It's like watching a fly getting zapped by the bug light,
yet coming back for another shock.
We
also did our long overdue laundry. I mean we filled up the
whole sail bag with dirty clothes and then some. It took better
part of the day to go through it. Then the dryers didn't work
as well and we had to convert our sailing vessel into a "Chinese
laundry boat" - no offense to my Chinese friends!
