Bums (for a day)

Dear
God it's raining again.
We
had a quite pleasant time in Myrtle Beach. Couple of days
with no rain, lots of sunshine chilling on the beach for the
whole day with our new friend Michael. Now it's pouring again.
Michael.
is from Oakville and is sailing down with his dad aboard Woodwind.
We had taken to the young lad and enjoyed his company immensely.
It's so good to have someone else to chat with. I had quite
a chuckle when he told me that since the very beginning of
the trip they are following one character named Dan. They
hooked up in Oswego and for couple of months now they raise
anchor when he does, put up the sails, stop, go and stay the
night right behind him. I guess they enjoy his company and
since Dan done this trip many times before following him saves
those guys some stress which we endured in heaps and bounds
on numerous occasions. But sitting on a beautiful beach with
no care and worry in this world makes it all a thing of the
past. Our engine is running as it should and we have an opportunity
to explore many cool places of the East Coast.
There
are couple of episodes I haven't mentioned yet. Couple of
days ago my beautiful friend Johannes decided to get up after
sitting for awhile in the cockpit. Well, as it happens to
some he completely passed out collapsing at my feet. My terror
was short lived, however, since my German friend got up quickly
massaging his bruised ribs which came in contact with our
anchors. He assured me there's nothing to worry about and
we laughed about this shortly after.
The
other cool thing that happened was that in Oriental we went
to town to look for a dinghy and we found bimini instead.
The canvas workshop lady whom we visited one morning was kind
to let us have a used bimini for absolutely free. It was designed
for power boat but within few hours we were proud owners of
the roof above our heads and to this day we are thrilled about
this.
Me
and Johannes enjoyed our day at the beach and in the afternoon
the curiosity of different shops set up here at Barefoot Landing.
We sat down in a swing chairs and were observing passerby
like a couple of retired folk. Then we called Laurie and Kelly
who were celebrating their Canadian Thanksgiving. We had such
a joy chatting up in a three minute intervals allowed by the
payphone. We are really looking forward to our time together
at Kelly's place in Miami.
